When terminally ill combat pilot Jake Bronson emerges from an MRI with extraordinary cognitive powers, everyone wants a piece of his talent--including Battista, one of the world's most dangerous terrorists. Thrust into a deadly chase across Europe and Afghanistan to save his love and her autistic-savant daughter, Jake discovers that his newfound talents carry a hidden price that threatens the entire human race.

When I first started this novel I was a little skeptical but as I got going with this book I realized that this was an amazing novel. The character of Jake was very believable and one thing that Richard Bard does perfectly is that he can really set the stage. A reader can almost feel like they are experiencing everything that is going on in the novel.

This was an amazing joy ride from page one and I almost could not put it down. I got this book to review early on and I have no idea why I took so long to review it because it was amazing. As the novel unfolds the character's really start to develop, and the author does a beautiful job of giving these characters life.

There were so many twists and turns, and you just follow the character Jake and try to keep up with him. And everything comes together, so tightly. There were moments I wanted to hit Jake, believe me, moments where I wanted to scream at these bloody people because they were not doing what they should, and I even felt like taking out a gun and shooting them all because they were just annoying me. And I have always said that if a book can make me feel strong emotions like that it is worth the reading. And there were moments where I felt my own heart race for Jake as he makes his way from California to Italy and then to his other locations.

I can only say that I hope Richard Bard lets me read his second book as well, because I loved, loved, loved this one and can't wait for the second one to come out.
