In Manhattan: Stacking The Shelves (24)

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by Tynga's Reviews. "In Manhattan" is a weekly recap of all that has occurred on the blog and any new purchases.

Currently, I am participating in a blog tour stop, hosted by Giselle at Xpresso Tours, and the book is Normalish, so go and check out what I have to say. Also, on the sidebar is a list of my other tours. I'm doing my best to keep it up to date and if you would like me to host any, just send me an email!

Also, I am still fighting a cold that I've had since New Years, and I just went to the doctor and found out it might be worse than a simple cold, (I can barely talk) so some of my reviews might not make sense or at least be a little weaker. The upside is that my "For Review" pile is dwindling faster than I expected, seeing as how I really can't get out much.

I hope everyone has a wonderful book weekend!

In Manhattan: Stacking the Shelves (23)

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by Tynga's Reviews. "In Manhattan" is a weekly recap of all that has occurred on the blog and any new purchases.

I've been on a little review frenzy these days only because school starts in three weeks and so does the reviews for the books that I've had to put on hold until February. I'm probably going to have another block period like I did this time, but only for about two months. I'm not sure yet, but I will let you guys know.

Also, I've started keeping a calender, and marking off when reviews are going in for ARC/For Review/Bought books. Took me a few hours to make BUT in keeping with my bloggy New Years resolution it had to be done. I won't publish the calender or anything but just know that if you are a self-published author I am A) Still accepting review requests and B) I always have openings.

And finally, just wanted to let everyone know that along with Xpresso Tours I've also become a Tour Host for Coffee, Books, & Lipgloss

ARC/For Review:

 Entangled by Nikki Jefford

I participated in a Book Blitz for this novel that was hosted by Giselle through her Xpresso Tour site.

Bought:

Now, I don't own a Kindle, BUT I do own an iPad and so I downloaded the Kindle app and there was this huge sale going on and I bought way too many books. Also, I won't be accepting review requests on the Kindle except for my Netgalley or books bought, only because I now have three digital forms to buy books (iBook, Nook, and Kindle) and I have Bluefire so I kind of want to keep everything in one location as much as possible. All the review requests go on my Nook.

Here's a snapshot:

Coffeehouse Angel by Suzanne Selfors
Starkissed by Brynna Gabrielson
Jane by April Lindner
The Lonely Hearts Club by Elizabeth Eulberg
Not That Kind of Girl by Siobhan Vivian
Graveminder by Melissa Marr
Carnival of Souls by Melissa Marr
The Lies that Bind by Lisa Roecker & Laura Roecker

In Manhattan: Stacking The Shelves (22)

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by Tynga's Reviews

I hope everyone had a wonderful New Years!

It has been longer than a month since the last time I made one of these posts and while trying to follow through my New Year's Resolution, I am going to try to be more on top of this! Since it would be a little weird to try to recapture the last month and a half, I'm going to show the four books I have (two bought and two received for review). It was actually great, because I reviewed Bette Page Presents: The Librarian by Logan Belle, which was fantastic and the author loved it so much that she sent me another one of her books, and from her publishing company, St. Martin's Press, I got an ARC of a book that was previously an e-series and will be put together as a book.

I just want to give a big thank you to Logan Belle and Katie Bassel, for the two books!

ARC/For Review:

The Gin Lovers by Jamie Brenner (a.k.a. Logan Belle)
Blue Angel by Logan Belle

In Manhattan: Stacking the Shelves

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by Tynga's Reviews

I hope that everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I know I did. It's always nice getting together with family and friends (in my case friends) and just forgetting the world for a day and enjoying good food!

Again, a little slow week. Just be aware that today is the last day to enter for Emily Colin's The Memory Thief giveaway. One copy will be given out, and please remember to do one of the two: Either tweet about the giveaway (there's a tweet function right now on Rafflecopter) or Like my Facebook page in order to count the vote. The freebe can be used as many times and will count as long as you have done as aforementioned.

I have tons of goodies from Netgalley. Some are really old and I've already reviewed and others I just got approved for. Honestly, I need to slow down considering just how long my pile is getting. I think for the rest of the year I will do my best to stop request until I have reviewed everything on there. It's getting harder to keep track, especially after the change that was made.

Get hooked on a girl named Fred...

HE said: Fred Oday is a girl? Why is a girl taking my best friends spot on the boy's varsity golf team?

SHE said: Can I seriously do this? Can I join the boys' team? Everyone will hate me - especially Ryan Berenger.

HE said: Coach expects me to partner with Fred on the green? That is crazy bad. Fred's got to go - especially now that I can't get her out of my head. So not happening.

SHE said: Ryan can be nice, when he's not being a jerk. Like the time he carried my golf bag. But the girl from the rez and the spoiled rich boy from the suburbs? So not happening.

In Manhattan: Stacking the Shelves (20)

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by Tynga's Reviews

I officially suck. I have not done one of these in over three weeks now, almost a month, and there has just been so much going on that I really don't have that much time to sit and talk about everything that I've gotten!

But I have good news and bad news to share. Bad news is that there are four weeks left of school, which means that papers and projects are starting to come close to an end. I have to write several large papers, some projects, and several exams are coming up meaning that if you thought my updating was bad, get ready because it is going from bad to worse overnight.

Good news though, because there is a silver lining, there are only four weeks of school left! Meaning that after those four weeks I am free for a month and three weeks, meaning that all those authors who I have had on my For Review pile and sitting there as late as April of this year, will finally get a review! I won't be able to read everyday, because I do have a life outside of reading, but I will for the majority of the time get as much reading as done. If anything, I plan to make sure that anything that I got from April to October of this year gets read before I start taking care of other things. Sound fair?

And to add to the good news, next semester I will only be taking 12 credits. And this is for a number of reasons: a) I have never taken 12 credits before and I am currently losing my mind. I cannot continue with my 16/17 credit track that I was going on, especially since I'm on the five year track for school. So, I'm slowing down a little. b) I'm trying to go out for a sorority, and the way that it has been explained to us is that going through the process is basically like adding another 3 credit class. But I want to enrich my college as experience as much as possible, which means doing as much as I can within the short time I'm here. But the wonderful thing is that with 12 credits and the sorority thing, I will have plenty of time to read. The way my schedule worked out I don't have any classes for Tuesday and Thursday, which makes me happy!

Okay, that was a lot! Maybe too much...ah well, I don't care.

Also! I have TWO GIVEAWAYS! going on right now! The Memory Thief by Emily Colin and Ten by Gretchen McNeil. Anyone who lives in the US can participate (I'm still trying to figure out the whole international thing in order to include Canada, just give me time!) and honestly it isn't that hard. All that I ask is that you please, please, please either "Like" for my Facebook, "Tweet" about the giveaway, or "Follow" me on Twitter. You DO NOT have to do all three but YOU MUST DO AT LEAST ONE! or else I can't really count your entry. I do give a bunch of freebees out, so take advantage of those, but they mean nothing without the three requirements that I have said above!

Links to the giveaways are on the sidebar and above.

And, I am participating in two blog tours from Xpresso Book Tours hosted by Giselle from Xpressoreads. I'm a tour host for two books right now, the tours I'm in are on the sidebar thingy!
Now, on to the books!

In Manhattan: Stacking the Shelves (19)

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by Tygna from Tygna's Reviews

Hello again! So, I've pretty much haven't done one of these in like, I don't know, two weeks, maybe three. It's been crazy here at school, and not just with the homework but a lot of other stuff. Anyways, I have been getting a lot of reading done (partially due to procrastination!) but this is good because I need it! I miss reading so much.

So, not a lot has really been going on blogging wise. I have three tours that are coming up for November, more details later. And I have received a lot of goodies from Netgalley.

I'll admit, right now I feel like a perv. I have a lot of erotica literature, since apparently that genre is lifting off the roof. Please don't judge me, thanks! =D

This list is actually not complete. I haven't gone through my emails yet where I have loads more books coming up! Mostly a lot of indie publishing, but yeah.

So, please let me know what you got! I love to see what everyone else is reading! Have a wonderful weekend!

Stacking The Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by Tynga's Reviews
Here is a weekly recap of what's going on in the blog from new reviews to new books
Last week I was too busy to do one and honestly there really hadn't been a lot of books. Now, if you keep up with my tweets I've been posting some awesome tweets with new books that have been coming in.
College is literally sucking the life out of me. This week alone I've only had eight hours of sleep total, so hopefully I can be a little more involved.

I will be putting on a notice that any review requests that I receive from here until further notice I will not be able to get to until Winter Break.
This week it was really exciting because I participated in JR Ward's virtual tour signing, so I got a personally signed copy of Rapture. That I can't actually read since I haven't even started the first book in her fallen angel series...oops. But, I am going to put it with my signed books and hopefully I can start a new shelf!

Also, A.J. Scurdiere and the main character from her novel, Jason Mondy, stopped by the blog for a tour! Check out the link below somewhere on the page.

In Manhattan: Stacking The Shelves (16)

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by Tynga's Reviews. This is a weekly recap and what I got and other bookish news.

As you can see that this is an extra special week, because the wonderful Giselle from Xpresso Reads basically redesigned my blog. I just want to start out by giving her a huge Thank You, because this really is great! It started with some meme banners (like the one you see above) and a button and a signature, and from there it just exploded to something really cool.

It use to look like this:

And now it's this beauty:
I did just turn a year old two months back, while I would have wish I had thought about redesigning then, I'm really glad that I did it early on now. With a new year comes new things. Though, I still have a lot to work on, and not just with my blog design but being a better blogger in general, I think things are looking up.

And I OFFICIALLY HAVE A BUTTON! Look over at the side bar. I'm still trying to figure out how to collect all the buttons and put them on my own blog, but let me know if you put me on so I can add you as well.

The reviews this week are a little better because things were not as hectic as before, so hopefully now that school has started I can get into a new rhythm. It's still chaotic, but not as much.

Imagine a modern spin on Mary Shelley's Frankenstein where a young couple's undying love and the grief of a father pushed beyond sanity could spell the destruction of them all.

A string of suspicious deaths near a small Michigan town ends with a fall that claims the life of Emma Gentry's boyfriend, Daniel. Emma is broken, a hollow shell mechanically moving through her days. She and Daniel had been made for each other, complete only when they were together. Now she restlessly wanders the town in the late Fall gloom, haunting the cemetery and its white-marbled tombs, feeling Daniel everywhere, his spectre in the moonlight and the fog.

When she encounters newcomer Alex Franks, only son of a renowned widowed surgeon, she's intrigued despite herself. He's an enigma, melting into shadows, preferring to keep to himself. But he is as drawn to her as she is to him. He is strangely... familiar. From the way he knows how to open her locker when it sticks, to the nickname she shared only with Daniel, even his hazel eyes with brown flecks are just like Daniel's.

The closer they become, though, the more something inside her screams there's something very wrong with Alex Franks. And when Emma stumbles across a grotesque and terrifying menagerie of mangled but living animals within the walls of the Franks' estate, creatures she surely knows must have died from their injuries, she knows
